Welcome to

While exploring London in 1982, I saw a Passap DM80 displayed at Selfridges, a department store. I was fascinated and in awe. I had just picked up my knitting needles again and was realizing that my personality was in conflict with the process. The idea of having a knitting machine stuck with me and when I saw the DM80 at my local Bernina store in 1984 I purchased it without hesitation. Thus, began a life-long adventure. Determined to learn how to use my machine, I made a commitment to knit on it for at least one-half hour every day. My frustration was eventually replaced by a passion for the fabrics that I could create. Now, like most of you, I own multiple machines.
My biography would not be complete without telling you that my introduction into designing began when I purchased DesignaKnit 5. I now write patterns that walk the knitter through the process to create a garment that will fit them. It gives me great pleasure when I see someone wearing a garment that they have invested their time and energy in.
I am now at a time in my life where I want to share with others what I had to learn the hard way. So, I am now teaching when the opportunity knocks, and writing patterns that are in an easy to follow step-by-step format. My heart's desire is that you will become inspired to learn what your machine will do and that you will spend many, many hours doing it. And, along the way, I hope you will share your knowledge with someone else!
